History Of Elliott School

The Elliott School, named in honor of President Lloyd H. Elliott, is a leading professional school of international relations. Founded in the year of 1898, it locates in the capital city of the United States, Washington, D.C, at the campus of Foggy Bottom University.  

The school offers undergraduate and graduate degrees of international affairs for students in worldwide scales. With more than 2,000 undergraduates and 800 graduate students, Elliott School is the largest university of International Affairs in the United States. The Elliott School is also a member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs.

Micheal E. Brown, who founded the Center for Peace and Security Studies at Georgetown University, also served as the Dean of The Elliott School since June 2005. From October 2015, Ambassador Reuben E.Brigety II, former U.S Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, assumes the position as the Dean of the Elliott School.

We focus on providing our students knowledge of international economic, as well as the theory and practice of international affairs, political and scientific. Through public, nonprofit and private sectors, we prepare the best condition to Elliott School students. Not only offering our in-depth analysis of wisdom, our Washington, DC location also allows us to form strong relationship with public and private organizations around the world, which employ students and alumni for Elliott School.

For years of development, Elliott School has been focusing on 3 main missions:

Our first mission is to nurture and educate talents and provide high-quality human resources specializing in International Affairs, Politics and Economics. We are now doing our best to train the future generation of international leaders.

Secondly, we constantly produce scholarship, conduct academic research that can spread awareness and enhance understanding of essential issues around the world.

Engaging the public and the policy community in the United States and around the world, thereby fostering international dialogue and shaping policy solutions is another top mission of Elliott School.

Besides the main missions of generating knowledge, sharing wisdom and inspiring mission to make our world a better place, we are also paying attention to create an ideal environment for students. Not only academic knowldge about international relation, students now can develop learning and research capabilities and professional working methods. Especially, Elliot School has launched a program that can help learners to improve esential skills from communication skill to management skill or even daily skills in life as driving skill.

This website plays a function as an online driving school for Elliot’s students and new driving learners. Elliottschool.org is focusing on providing step-by-tep guidelines about driving techniques as well as analysis about traffic issues so that students will be  equipped with necessary skills and knowledge to enjoy safe trips ahead.
